In this article we will talk about how to properly care for your skin after aesthetic procedures, as well as how to choose moisturizing skin care.

Aesthetic treatments like microneedling, chemical peels, lasers, and injectables can dramatically enhance your skin’s texture, tone, and overall appearance. But what you do after the procedure is just as important as the treatment itself.

Post-procedure care determines how well your skin heals, how long the results last, and how comfortable your recovery feels. At VAM, we believe in not just achieving beauty — but sustaining it with smart, gentle care.

Here’s how to care for your skin after aesthetic procedures:

1. Follow Your Practitioner’s Instructions — Always

Every treatment has unique post-care protocols. Whether it’s avoiding certain products, applying specific creams, or waiting to wear makeup, your provider knows what your skin needs. Stick to their guidance for optimal healing and results.

2. Hydrate Generously

Most aesthetic procedures cause some level of dryness or disruption to your skin barrier. Keep your skin hydrated with a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer that supports barrier repair. Also, drink plenty of water to promote healing from the inside out.

3. Avoid Sun Exposure

Your skin is more sensitive after treatments and highly vulnerable to UV damage. Stay out of direct sunlight and apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily, even indoors. Wear a hat or protective clothing if you must go outside.

4. Keep It Clean — But Gentle

Avoid using harsh cleansers or exfoliants. Instead, use a mild, non-foaming cleanser and pat your skin dry with a soft towel. Keeping your skin clean without irritation helps prevent breakouts or infection.

5. Hold Off on Active Ingredients

Skip retinoids, vitamin C, exfoliating acids, and other potent actives for at least 5–7 days (or longer if advised). These can be too harsh while your skin is in repair mode and may trigger sensitivity or peeling.

6. No Picking or Scratching

If your skin is peeling, flaking, or slightly scabbing (as with lasers or peels), resist the urge to touch it. Let your skin shed naturally — picking can lead to scarring or pigmentation.

7. Allow Time to Heal

Results from aesthetic procedures don’t always show up overnight. Be patient and let your body work through its healing process. Swelling, redness, or minor discomfort is normal — but if anything feels off, always contact your provider.

The European languages are members of the same family. Their separate existence is a myth. For science, music, sport, etc, Europe uses the same vocabulary. The languages only differ in their grammar, their pronunciation and their most common words. Everyone realizes why a new common language would be desirable.

The new common language will be more simple and regular than the existing European languages. It will be as simple as Occidental; in fact, it will be Occidental. To an English person, it will seem like simplified English, as a skeptical Cambridge friend of mine told me what Occidental is. The European languages are members.
